Joana Moll

Joana Moll

She is an artist and a researcher based in Barcelona. Her work critically explores the way post-capitalist narratives affect the alphabetisation of machines, humans and ecosystems. Her main research topics include environmental impact of communication technologies, Internet infrastructures,surveillance and language. She has exhibited and presented her work in different museums, art centers, festivals, universities and publications around the world. Furthermore, she is a member of the scientific and artistic committee of the transdisciplinary research project Antiatlas des Frontières and co-founder of The Institute for the Advancement of Popular Automatisms.

Despite its crucial role in many aspects of our society, the material and computational architectures that allow the Internet to exist are widely ignored by most of its users.
