Pluripotency Laboratory - Universitat de Barcelona

Logo Pluripotencia

The Barcelona-based Pluripotency Laboratory is advancing iPS cell technology for iPS cells closer to ground state pluripotency for clinical applications. It is part of the University of Barcelona’s Faculty of Medicine.

The research involves making stem cells from patient skin cells, a process called cell reprogramming to use the stem cells as a model to study human disease (cellular level, genetical level and drug screening) for:

- Spinal cord injury (Oligodendrocyte precursor cells).

- SMA (Neurons).

- Cardiac diseases (beating Cardiomyocte  cells).

- Lung disease (Lung stem cells).
