The Faculdade de Belas Artes da Universidade do Porto (Faculty of Fine Arts of Oporto) is aimed at teaching, promoting scientific research and developing services for the community. Among the objectives are to give academic education leading to academic diplomas and degrees described in the law on fine arts and design; promote and develop fundamental and applied research; organize specialisation and training programmes, masters and PhD courses; to support and implement cultural extension activities; organise and develop new ways of rendering services to the community; promote cultural, scientific and technical exchange with national and international institutions.
